Alex + Sara, Engaged

I first took Jennifer here last summer. Most people only see one side of the Pyramid Point dune…but once you reach the top…you have to go further.

Through the woods
Over the dune grass
Around the bluff
And into the bowl

The view: Lake Michigan, Good Harbor Bay, and the vista of the Manitou Islands in one epic panorama.

You feel like you’re looking at the curve of the earth… and it’s hard to take in with one glance.

You have to stare, breathe deep, close your eyes, listen…only to open your eyes again to find that Lake Michigan is still there…still bigger than you can even imagine…

So we were up here with Alex and Sara…in this place… talking about their travels through Russia, Thailand, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Italy… taking risks to start a global clothing company, their upcoming wedding, and living a full life… together…

Two wonderful people celebrating their love on the top of a sand dune…slowly…intentionally…and without reservation.

It was hard to take in with one glance…but it happened…and we were there…and the images tell the story of who Alex and Sara are…and who they are becoming.

Cannot wait to capture their wedding next year… just a few miles East.
