When to Book

If you are wanting images from your session to be made into a custom signing guestbook, coffee table book, or printed up for your wedding day decorations, we suggest that the session take place no later than three months before your wedding date.

While it’s different for every wedding, most of our couples schedule their session around 6 months prior to their wedding day.

What to Expect

Your session will typically last about 1.5-2 hours.

It’s a great time for you two to spend time with one another, slow down and soak in the fact that you’re getting married!!! Nearly all of our couples talk about how fun and easy their shoot was. The couples in our photos look happy and unposed because they ARE happy and unposed.

As you guys know…we’re very laid back folks and we truly believe in making your session an experience to remember. We’ll laugh together, we’ll shed happy tears together, we’ll explore together, and celebrate this sweet and joyful time.

Having said that, the joy and responsibility for getting great photos doesn’t rest entirely on us. If you want photos that reflect your love, your uniqueness…you’ve gotta bring the love and the willingness to be vulnerable.

We’ll find the great light, great backgrounds, and give you the amount of direction that you need as a unique couple, but beyond that you’ve gotta love, laugh, have fun, ditch your reservations (even if that requires a glass of wine)…. and trust us.

We know a lot of people are nervous about having their picture made…and it’s totally normal! Can the first 20 minutes feel awkward? Sure, of course! But we try to make things as laid back and fun as possible. It’ll be a great time, no need to worry!

The best advice we can give you guys for this session… the more vulnerable you guys are with each other and with us, the more amazing your images will be. Promise. So if you need a glass of wine to get prepped, feel free :)

LOCATION

The most important thing is slowing down, loving on each other, and having a great experience.  Sure epic locations are great, but you’d be surprised how amazing the most random little nook or cranny can look when you add in two people madly in love.

That said, we love being intentional and working with our couples on finding a location that’s unique to who you are as a couple, AND a location that will provide the best light possible for creating your images.

UNPLUG

We have a rule.  Unless there’s a unique/family situation that requires you to have your phone on you, your phone(s) stay in your car.  Taking two hours to love one another, truly look into the eyes of your fiancé, and create moments is worth every second of not being plugged in.  Gift yourself.  Leave the phones at home.

WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR PHOTOS

Print that shit, y’all!  We offer amazing professional prints through your online gallery, but even if you choose to print elsewhere, just get your favorites on your walls – they’re beautiful reminders of this season your in and will be gifts that give back to you over time.

Your engagement photos also make great Save The Dates! Sending a fresh photo of the of you in this joyful season is always a fun thing to do and to receive and your friends and family will love it.

Make a small album! Every couple years Brad and I hire our favorite photographers to capture our love and our life and year after year they become more and more special to us – little books of images of where we’ve been, who we were in different seasons, and being able to share those images and memories with our son is such a gift.
