If you’re from Nashville, chances are you’ve seen these faces around…and if you haven’t shaken hands or squeezed necks, put it on your to-do list. To say these two are an inspiration would be a strong understatement… In fact, while I’m writing this Justin & Lyndi are traveling the world celebrating new adventures…but before we go any further, we need to go backwards.
In March of 2014 Jen and I met Justin and planned a stealthy proposal plan that ended with us hiding in bushes in Leiper’s Fork and capturing his proposal to Lyndi. Watching us navigate through brush was amusing to say the least, but what’s important about this part of the story is that right before Justin proposed, he stood her up and read her Dr. Seuss’ “Oh, The Places You’ll Go”.
The book is quite long, but I remember when Justin read this…
“You will come to a place where the streets are not marked.
Some windows are lighted. but mostly they’re darked.
A place you could sprain both your elbow and chin!
Do you dare to stay out? Do you dare to go in?
How much can you lose? How much can you win?”
…and I remember seeing their faces full of the excitement and anticipation of knowing that their future together was staring back at them asking those very questions… “Do you dare to stay out? Do you dare to go in? How much can you lose? How much can you win?”
Justin proposed. Lyndi said yes. And now we’re here. Except everything has changed.
Justin was dared to leave the comforts of his 9-5 and started working for The Peach Truck running operations. You should see the smile on his face.
After finishing grad school, Lyndi took a leap of faith and left the comforts of her job to follow her dream in the kitchen. Her bakery Littlest Love creates heavenly baked goods that taste like a labor of love.
This is what marriage does. It exposes and fuses the best parts of each other.
So for us… this wedding day wasn’t just a job we showed up to. It was the celebration of two lives joined together…two souls who dared to lose and won a much fuller life.
(A very special thanks to the Cordelle for creating the best damn wedding venue in downtown Nashville, to 12th Table for their unpretentious attention to design and detail, and to Rosemary & Finch for the lovely palette of florals.)
