Aaron + Edvina, Mountain Elopement

Most of the time weddings look like an elaborate dress, table cloths, candles, guests from far and near, and a band playing through all hours of the night.

But this day was different.

This day was about two people hiking on a Tuesday in a new place they will soon call home. This day was about standing in the midst mountains, among the quiet, the fog, the grandeur…holding hands making the greatest promise to one another.

This day was about change. Feeling the warmth of the sun on our faces for only a few moments, then instantly being draped in clouds.

…and although the weather kept us on our toes, it was a beautiful reminder of the promises made.

“For richer or poorer”
“In sickness and in health”

…In the sun and in the fog.

This is what marriage is about. Holding hands and growing through not just the wonderful seasons, but the seasons where you don’t recognize one another….when the fog seems to thick to bare…when he/she has changed so much you have to rediscover one another again.

What a profound mystery.
