Jordan and Jen were hiding behind the big magnolia at Belle Meade Plantation. I was prepping Steve for the first look and he just kept dancing and clenching his fists – something you’d do before the start of a big game. All the memories, the joy, the anticipation and ideas of the love of his life was all building up to this moment… when he’d see the only woman he’ll ever call wife in a white dress.
I’ll never forget his exhale of deep breaths and the nodding of his head. This is how excited every man should be before he sees his bride.
And just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, Jordan turned Steve around and as they exchanged hugs and tears, May 20th gave us it’s first sight of blue sky and the sun peaked it’s rearing head and said hello.
I can’t settle on the best moment of this day because there were so many, but watching prayers answered for two amazing hearts certainly pierced us.
The day was full of moments like this. Overflowing joy in embraces, proud looks and welling tears from family members, and of course, Amanda Bantug’s dance moves.
What a gift to have captured these treasures and preserve them until a day when Jordan and Steve have a family of their own and are able to share how they felt on that damp spring day when they became husband and wife.
