art journal – part one

I (Jen) love to dabble in all sorts of crafty/artsy things. At some point in time, I’ve tried everything from painting, to making jewelry, pottery, cards, crocheting, knitting, sewing, etc.

We live in a small apartment, so I can’t exactly keep stacking canvases, fabric, and paints up in every corner of the house. At the same time, I know that being able to craft and create is something I love and need to do–I just need a way to create, paint, write, etc without taking up too much space.

So I’m creating a place. A place for things I want to remember. A place to awaken my heart, soul, and mind (hence, the word “awaken” on the back of the journal). A place to connect, release, and explore. A place to capture pieces of the story God is telling through me today.

I’ve been intrigued by the idea of making an art journal for as long as I can remember. Somehow I’ve never taken the time to create one…until now. This is just the beginning.
