Katie + Dustin, Married in Michigan

The first wedding we ever captured was in Northern Michigan. We had no idea what we were doing, but the bride and groom said something that stuck with us forever.

“It’s ok…we trust you.”

We were liberated…and equally terrified….but we did it, and we did it well. And now we look back and realize… that wedding changed everything for us.

It allowed us to see how well we worked together, how much we loved working with couples, and how important it was that we gained their trust in telling their stories.

We come back to Northern Michigan every summer and shoot a handful of weddings through out the area. It’s a special and humbling thing for us to be taken back to where it all began.

So we were here, 5 years later, surrounded by Katie and Dustin’s family and friends being welcomed and greeted with hugs as if we were long lost family…..and we were listening to these stories about who they were, stories about their character, stories of how they fell in love, and the people that shaped them along the way.

It was really heavy…in the best kind of way.

We could go on and on about how much love we have for these two people, but instead, we want you to hear it from the hearts of their family members.
